Saving Your Character

Saving Your Character
All aspects of a character are saved through two activities...
  1. After loading a new area.
  2. Before a successfull logout.

Characters do not save when the server crashes.

Typically what happens is; characters get a level and a special item from the DM. They are busy role playing for these bonuses so they never transition, nor do they logout. Then the server crashes and all of that XP, those levels, the items and gold must be replaced manually by the DM. *ugh*

Therefore, the best time to trigger a save is right after major changes to a character. This is important information for DMs as well! As DMs, when we hand out XP and gold at the end of a quest we should encourage players to transition or a re-log to save.
Improvements Needed
Anyone have any ideas on how to hook the save scripts up to an item for players so they can save when ever they want? How about other ideas? Message a DM!
