Playing a Rock Gnome
Rock Gnomes are by far the most frequently encounterd variety of gnomes and are usually what is meant by a commoner when referring to a gnome.
Gnomes are in wide demand as alchemists, inventors, and technicians, although most prefer to remain among their own kind, enjoying the simple comforts their hard life brings.
Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. There are a few gnomes though, who have very little appreciation for humor. These are the gnomes held in service to the wealthier houses, be it from a crime committed by their ancestors, or a debt owed that gold cannot repay.
Gnomes usually prefer to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new things, and asking many questions.
Gnomes stand 3 to 3 1/2 feet tall and live around 350 to 500 years, which gives them a lot of time to experiment with many different things.
Who should be a gnome?
With their small size, gnomes tend to inflict less damage, making them better suited for spellcasters, or support roles. Gnomes are not recommended for inexperienced players.
