Planetouched
The Planetouched race is the most complex race in the game to play but we have simplified it by creating newly created Planetouched characters that do not understand their own existance. This allows the flexibility for any player to play a character as a planetouched race because they do not need to know all of the details, ignorance is part of playing a Planetouched character role, especially at low levels.
How Planetouched are Seen in Society
Throughout the past when magic was being used in all manner of ways, occasionally beings from other worlds or planes would appear in this world. Mostly closed cases where there is no obvious effect on the land, these occurrences were rather rare. However, it happened enough to affect a few people over the course of time, some even today.
Some families, for various reasons, find that they have planar blood in them, sometimes giving them special powers that normal people do not have. The blood in the family can lie dormant for generations before resurfacing, but when it does it is usually obvious as the child takes on physical aspects of its planar ancestor. Sadly, it is for this reason that many Planetouched people are mistrusted or even treated like monsters.
How a society responds to a Planetouched person usually has a great effect on how they grow up. Some people openly accept them because there parents are trusted members of the community, or in worse cases the parents themselves hate the child. Many believe that the kind of blood they have greatly effects their character; however, this is not totally true. While a person with Tiefling blood may be tempted more often to do something amoral, it does not greatly affect how they normally act.
Now that the world is in ruins and the already rare species made even rarer, many Planetouched find the world uncaring for their plight. While many towns are content to barter with these people, there seems to be a constant distance in relationships between them and normal people.
Before these troubling times many Planetouched wished for places were they could feel at home… Unfortunately such a place is in fact near by… and growing closer by the year…

Advanced Understanding of Plantouched Classes
OK this gets really deep so get ready! There is a fully functional Planar Physics Model that explains how the planar system works in every detail. It is a highly complicated system that is hard to explain and understand but it has been developed in a way that is supposed to make sense to most common D&D players around the world without effecting the integrity of the role playing on the server. This has a lot to do with our policy on open playing all classes and all races for all players of all levels all the time!
The Metaphysical Planes are all psychic and all exist purely in mind not physically. Plane Walking involves travel to the other planes using a magic induced, very lucid dream. In these Metaphysical Planes there exists other races of high variety both good and evil but they are all existing in a psychic realm not a physical one. They were created there, they live there, and they will die there for it is their natural plane of existance. In that same respect, if one of those Metaphysical native people wants to travel to the Material Plane where most of the DoT campaing takes place, then they will need to find a way to become born in the Material Plane. They cannot enter the Material Plane using a lucid dream, they can only enter our world by being physically born here, just like everyone else.
Once the Metaphysical mage figures out how to become born into the physical world using there own form of great and outstanding magic, it will result in a strange birth in the physical world resulting in what is often times called, the Planetouched. The Planetouched carry different looks and stand out a great deal from all other races due to this. Their distinct looks are the result of left over magical residue on their genetic makeup due to their transfer to the physical world.
Being born, as many of us know, is a harsh process. We don't know anything when we are born and it will take us many years before we are even self sufficient let alone possibly able to understand where we truely come from.
This is how we can allow players, new players that would never read all of this ridiculous lore, to be able to participate in games as a Planetouched race without knowing all of the storyline. Being born here is harsh but very necessary and it may take a while before characters realize why they are here.
